Wilfrid Wray Vassar Jr, 81, of, Negaunee, Michigan, passed away surrounded by his devoted  family on March 16, 2015. Wilfrid is survived by his loving wife Ilomay of 60 years, Father of Michael (Kate), Barry (Shellie), Robert and Nicole. Loving grandfather (Papa) to Tiffany, Aaron, Ashlynn and Alexxa.  Wilfrid served as a State Trooper in the Michigan State Police for 18+  years and was promoted and retired as Detective Sergeant. He Served in the United States Navy for 5 years. He then graduated from Northern Michigan University and went on to direct the NMU Regional Police Academy.A special thank you to the VA nursing home and hospital in Milwaukee for their loving care and support.
