Obituary

William C. Ihlenfeld II Passed away February 4, 2017 at age 71.  Loving husband to Lynn and proud father of William III (Caryn), Nathan, Marnie (Todd), and Andy (Katie).  Took great joy in his grandchildren Wil IV, Grant, Brooke, Ella, Cam, Keenan, Anne and Lillian.  Survived by sister Jayne (Alan) Stolldorf, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.  Bill retired far too early from Capital Investment Services of America due to the relentless progression of Parkinson's disease.  Along the path of his life, Bill trained in the U.S. Army, graduated from the Wisconsin Military Academy, and served in the Wisconsin National Guard.  He worked at Midland Bank, the Bank of Burlington, Merrill Lynch, and founded Community National Bank of Mukwonago.  He went on to work at Loewi Asset Management Company and and was one of the founders of its successor, Capital Investment Services of America Inc.    Bill served on the boards of the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center and the Wisconsin Parkinson Association, and chaired the Douglas McKey Christmas Club.  Bill also served on the board of Advantage+, a direct business lender, for 24 years.  He and Lynn were instrumental in the success of an event called Moving Forward raising funds to benefit people with Parkinson's and their families. Bill was always active and achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do the year he was diagnosed with Parkinson's.  Bill loved his family, his work, sailing, travel, and cars.  Bill could recount his life based on what car he owned at the time.  He and Lynn enjoyed many years with family and friends in Door County.  We will miss his sense of humor, his graciousness, his determination and perseverance in the face of adversity.  Thank you to everyone who visited with Bill and shared stories, cards, and time with him.  Thank you to Heartland Hospice and the staff at Heritage Elm Grove for the kindness and care you all provided to Bill.  Memorials may be made to the Medical College of Wisconsin Parkinson's Program, to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association, or to the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center.  A private memorial service was held.
