Obituary

William "Bill" Poor was called home to our Lord on September 27, 2021, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Born in Winamac, IN to Willis and Marie Evelyn (Riemer) Poor. Bill moved to Wisconsin at a young age. He volunteered to serve his Country in Vietnam where he was wounded, but he didn't let that stop him from living a prosperous life after his service. He was an Operations Manager and Lean/TQM consultant, traveling internationally to help companies. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, fixing things, learning new things, talking about his faith, and spending time with family. He was involved in his community where he helped form the girls' softball program in Horicon, helped get the boys Pioneer program started at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Kekoskee, served his Lord in various ways at the various churches he belonged to, volunteer at various animal shelters, and was an advocate for veteran's rights.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister Gail Ward. He is survived by his children Michelle (Tim) Bauer, Trisha Poor, and William C. (Christina Schrubbe) Poor. His grandchildren Kaleb (Alexa) Eiting, Sierra (Cory Miller) Bauer, William J. Poor, step-grandchildren Dylan Brewer, and Isabella Brewer. His great- grandchildren Lilah and Violet. His siblings Steve (the late Gail) Ward, Becky (Brian) Vis, Sylvia (Dan) Swan, and Jeanie Korth. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family and friends.

Rest easy Dad, walk with our Lord, we love you.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to Doc Marta and Lisa at the Wausau VA CBOC, Gordie, Shyanne, and Felicia with St. Croix Hospice, Pastor Steinbrenner at Peace Lutheran Church, Pastor Knickelbein, Dr. Jeremiah Olson, and Dr. Peterson with Aspirus in Wausau, along with family and friends. The love, support, and care you gave to our Dad and our family is greatly appreciated.
