Robert Olsen

Funeral Director & Manager

Robert has proudly served families at Hartson Funeral Home since 1997—the only funeral home he has ever called home. A graduate of Vennard College in Oskaloosa, Iowa (Class of 1984) and of the MATC Funeral Service program, Robert is dedicated to honoring every family’s story with care and respect. He enjoys baseball, golfing, and a good cup of coffee, but most of all, he cherishes time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Mike Bunzel

Funeral Director

A lifelong resident of Hales Corners and graduate of Whitnall High School, Michael is a proud alumnus of the MATC Funeral Service program. He brings compassion and professionalism to every family he serves. Outside of work, Michael enjoys painting, helping others, and spending time with his fellow team members.

Elsbeth “El” Reese

Funeral Director

El grew up in a military family, living throughout the country with home bases in Alaska and Pennsylvania. They earned a degree in Child and Family Studies from Ohio University in 2016 and began their funeral service career as an apprentice in the Milwaukee area in 2021. After graduating from MATC’s Mortuary Science program in 2023, El joined Hartson Funeral Home, where they primarily serve families in Hales Corners and assist at affiliated locations as needed. El’s greatest goal is to honor the deceased by easing the pain and confusion families feel in times of grief. Outside of work, El enjoys sewing, cultivating bonsai trees and orchids, and playing the mandolin. They also have a deep love for animals and the outdoors.

Cindy Olsen

Pre-Need Counselor & Administrative Assistant

Born in Milwaukee and raised in Mason City, Iowa, Green Bay, and Illinois, Cindy has worn many hats throughout her career, including nurse aide and radio DJ. After her mother passed away in 2013, Cindy was moved by the experience of seeing her mother’s preplanned funeral wishes fulfilled. Inspired by that gift, she pursued a career as an advanced funeral planner to help other families experience the same peace of mind. Cindy has been with Hartson Funeral Home since 2000 and is married to Robert Olsen. Together, they have a blended family of six children and five grandchildren. Cindy is an enthusiastic supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers, and she especially enjoys watching Wisconsin’s summer thunderstorms roll in.

Tina Minto

Funeral Director Apprentice & Crematory Manager

A Milwaukee native, Tina was raised on the city’s south side and began her studies at UW–Stout in 1992, majoring in graphic arts. Years later, she followed her calling to funeral service, graduating from MATC’s Funeral Service program in 2014. Tina joined Hartson Funeral Home in 2015 and has since earned certifications in cremation services and as a licensed crematory operator and manager. She loves spending time with her twins and her beloved pets, and she also runs her own small business of 18 years. Tina is currently engaged to her fiancé, Carlos, and together they enjoy traveling, cruising, and embracing life’s adventures.

Carlos Kuen

Funeral Director Apprentice & Crematory Operator

Carlos joined Hartson Funeral Home in 2020, beginning part-time by assisting with transfers. He has since earned his certification as a crematory operator, a role in which he has served for the past four years. Outside of work, Carlos enjoys going on cruises, fishing, attending cookouts, and playing in pool leagues.

Darlene Young

Administrative Assistant

Darlene has been part of the Hartson Funeral Home family for 13 years. Married with five children and several grandchildren, she finds joy in her close-knit family and her love of animals, especially her rescue dogs and cats. A devoted fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, Darlene has also opened her home to foster children and foreign exchange students over the years. She treasures the strong bonds she shares with her coworkers, who she considers extended family.

Janet Budziszewski

Administrative Assistant

Janet has been serving families at Hartson Funeral Home since 2019, assisting both staff and guests with care and warmth. A longtime Milwaukee County resident, she enjoys crafting and knitting in her free time. Known affectionately as the “cat lady,” Janet is an avid animal lover with a special fondness for her feline companions.

Matt Hlasny

Funeral Assistant

Matt is a longtime Milwaukee resident who has supported Hartson Funeral Home in various capacities for several years. He takes pride in caring for the building and grounds and assisting the staff in serving families. Known for his humor and kind spirit, Matt enjoys making people laugh and spending his free time knitting.
